But yes, keeping them shaped and tidy is more important than length. I’ve tried growing them really long, but they are much more prone to breaking, then you end up with one that looks much shorter which is rubbish.

I’ve found how long is a manageable length for me now anyway. During the summer I’ve been keeping them painted, then redoing them every two weeks. Before repainting them I file a bit off, move the cuticles back then repaint them, adding a layer of top coat afterwards. Should be good for another two weeks then.
